Position Overview
PURPOSE & SCOPE
To create the perfect coffee and hot beverages for each guest, ensuring each drink is in-line with the Ralph Lauren standards, and the quality and service is by no means compromised. You will interact with the guests to ensure their needs are meet and are comfortable, offering suggestions from the drinks menu through storytelling and educating them on our considered drinks menu offering.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. Welcomes customers by determining their coffee and hot beverage needs.
2. Educates customers by presenting and explaining the coffee and hot drink offering
3. Discusses the story behind the coffee beans we use, informing
4. Prepares and sells hot drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks, such as Ralph’s Roast, Espresso, Latte, Mocha and Cappuccino etc.
5. Generate revenue by attracting new customers; defining new and expanded services and products
6. Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply; stocking coffee brewing equipment; maintaining supplies and pastries
7. Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs
8. Provide both a unique and elevated guest experience for each guest
9. Read checks clearly and orders are being processed accurately to reduce wastage
10. Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing correct uniform whilst working
11. Accurately take food/beverage orders, and deliver to guests in a timely manner.
12. Ensure all drinks are prepared and are coherent with the company standards
13. Utilise slow trade periods to check standards, refresh knowledge on the food and drink offering, and revising health & safety checks
14. Ensure all equipment used front of house is kept clean and tidy at open and closing of venue
15. Fill in daily paperwork (opening closing checklists)
16. Elevate the guest experience through link selling additional products when possible and/or suitable
17. Follow up with each guest, ensuring they are content with service and food to ensure we are delivering on standards and offering a memorable experience.
18. Clear bar accordingly and provide efficient smooth service that will help turn bar seating area
19. Accurately taking cash, card or voucher payments from guests, ensuring correct change is offered and vendor receipts are retained in the till
20. Maintain a friendly and warm demeanour at all times
21. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by management
Experience, Skills & Knowledge
ATTRIBUTES & EXPERIENCE
22. Minimum of 1 strategic cycle in hospitality
23. Previous experience making fresh coffee and hot drinks
24. Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
25. Be action orientated and solution driven to achieve results
26. A desire to build relationships and promote team work
27. Be flexible in supporting the business and team
