As a Shift Leader, My role involves:
1. Coordinate the team to deliver the easiest shopping trip in the community
2. Opening/closing the store and completing duty cover, ensuring decisions benefit customers, colleagues, and safety
3. Being the go-to person for colleagues in the absence of the Store Manager for operational queries
4. Supporting the Store Manager in coordinating seasonal, community, and charity events
5. Maintaining store cleanliness, tidiness, and presentation
6. Prioritizing replenishment of key products
7. Ensuring point of sale and shelf labels are accurate
8. Addressing overcharges immediately and preventing reoccurrence
9. Managing in-store queues proactively
10. Coordinating colleagues to meet daily priorities and manage breaks
11. Knowing the store well and leading improvements
12. Following health and safety routines and ensuring colleagues do the same
13. Communicating effectively with the team
14. Sharing ideas to simplify operations
15. Putting customers first and resolving queries positively
16. Adjusting service to meet customer needs
17. Recognizing colleagues for great service
18. Removing obstacles to excellent service
19. Resolving colleague queries or escalating as needed
20. Ensuring appropriate staffing and managing short-term absences
21. Being a Keyholder, attending alarm call outs for store safety
22. Monitoring and acting on internal communications
23. Feeding back issues to the Store Manager
24. Balancing service and replenishment tasks
25. Supporting the Store Manager with absence management and return-to-work interviews
26. Building relationships with Area Managers & People Partners for support and coaching
