First Contact Physiotherapist – Pure Physiotherapy Devon Permanent – Jul 8, 2025
Pure Physiotherapy is seeking an experienced and motivated First Contact Physiotherapist (FCP) to join our expanding team. This role is based within GP practices across Okehampton and Axminster – no community travel required beyond these sites, but a full driving licence is essential.
As an FCP, you’ll be the first point of contact for MSK patients, providing expert assessment, diagnosis, and management without the need for prior GP referral. You’ll work autonomously within primary care while being fully supported by our established clinical network, including roadmap supervisors, line managers, and a regional peer team.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver expert MSK assessment and management within scope of practice
* Support GPs by streamlining care pathways and referring to secondary care when appropriate
* Promote patient self‑management and behavioural change to reduce reliance on medication
* Integrate fully with the PCN team and adapt to evolving primary care needs
* Maintain accurate HCPC‑compliant clinical documentation
* Represent Pure Physiotherapy’s values through clear, compassionate communication
What We’re Looking For: Essential
* HCPC registration and BSc in Physiotherapy
* Minimum 5 years’ MSK experience
* Strong communication, IT, and problem‑solving skills
* Ability to work flexibly across multiple GP practices
Desirable
* Postgraduate or master’s level qualification
* Roadmap Stage 1 and/or 2 signed off
