Job Summary

The Star Project seeks a proactive and organised Assistant Manager to support the day-to-day operations of our growing theatre school. This flexible hybrid role includes administration, communication, recruitment, and project support within a creative environment.


Job Description

Beginning at 5 hours per week, the role involves supporting the Company Manager with administration, parental communication, enrolments, social media, project organisation, and business growth. Some work will be completed remotely, with attendance required at rehearsals, productions, meetings, and events as needed.


Key Responsibilities

* Supporting the day‑to‑day running of the business
* Assisting with administration and organisational tasks
* Managing emails and parental communication
* Supporting student enrolments, trials, schedules, and mentorships
* Assisting Project Leaders and team members
* Supporting social media and promotional content
* Supporting productions, rehearsals, workshops, and events
* Maintaining excellent customer service standards
* Supporting business growth and recruitment
* Attending meetings, rehearsals, and show periods as required


Qualifications and Experience

* Organised, reliable, proactive and able to use initiative independently
* Strong communication and customer‑service skills
* Passionate about theatre education and the performing arts
* Proficient with emails, Google Drive, Dropbox, Microsoft Office, and social media platforms
* Positive, professional, and enthusiastic attitude
* Willingness to learn and develop professionally
* Ability to work flexibly within a growing business
* Previous administration experience (desirable)
* Experience in the performing arts (desirable)
* Experience working with children or young people (desirable)
* Experience leading or supporting a team (desirable)
* Driving licence (desirable)
* DBS check (desirable)

The role is self‑employed/freelance, starting at £12.71 per hour, with opportunities for progression, increased responsibility, and additional hours. Additional show‑day pay will apply.
