Sue Ross Recruitment are working on behalf of our client, a highly respected precision engineering company, to recruit a Production Planner/Scheduler on a permanent basis. The Production Planner reports to the Supply Chain Manager and is responsible for planning production processes to make the best use of resources. The role ensures people and machines are fully utilised, customer service levels are met, and both WIP and finished goods inventories are kept in balance. Production Planning/Scheduling: * Analyse sales and forecast data to ensure levels of stock are appropriate. Maintain these stock levels in ERP system. * Plan production processes to ensure that our resources can be used effectively thereby ensuring high levels of people and machine utilisation in the delivery of excellent customer service to the business units. * Balancing and maintaining WIP and finished goods inventories to the agreed levels. * Ensuring high standards of stock keeping are adhered to together with maintaining stock accuracy. * Work closely with all other Operations functions and Customer Service Team * Measure, review, publicise, take appropriate corrective actions, and report all relevant KPI’s to ensure targets are being achieved (including throughput, OTIF and service). * Generate weekly production schedule in best fit to available machine capacity and labour resources. * Coordinate any sub-contract activities, ...
