About the Role

Join Us as Deputy Head of Education, Health, & Law and Shape the Future of Higher Education at University Centre Leeds (UC).

We’re looking for an experienced and forward-thinking leader to drive the strategic and operational delivery of our Education, Health, and Law programmes ranging from Level 3-6, which includes, degrees, apprenticeships and access courses in a range of subjects. Working closely with course teams, you will play a key role in ensuring exceptional learner outcomes and aligning our provision with regional and national skills priorities.

Based in the heart of Leeds, University Centre Leeds is a vibrant higher education provider offering career-focused programmes. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape our provision in the area and drive excellence in teaching, learning, and employer engagement.

Interviews will be held in January 2026.

What You Will Do

1. Collaborate with Heads of Department to lead and enhance the quality of teaching, learning, and assessment, ensuring exceptional outcomes for apprentices.
2. Lead and motivate a diverse team working across multiple sectors and industries, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
3. Take ownership of meeting and exceeding targets, playing a key role in the growth and success of Education, Health & Law at University Centre Leeds.
4. Develop and implement strategies to drive high retention, achievement, and success, and ensuring all awarding body, funding, and quality standards are consistently met.
5. Serve as a role model across the University Centre by fostering strong employer relationships and leading excellence in apprenticeship delivery and assessment.
6. Actively support the planning, preparation, and development of schemes of work, lesson plans, teaching and learning resources, assessment plans, to enhance the students' learning experiences.

About You

7. Level 5 teaching qualification, Relevant professional Level 4 qualification and/or degree.
8. Strong knowledge of quality assurance frameworks and processes, with hands-on experience managing high-quality higher education delivery.
9. Ability to contribute to the development and delivery of strategies that improve retention, achievement, success, and attendance across learner groups.
10. Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships across internal teams and external partners.
