Job Overview
NHS Scotland invites applications for an experienced Consultant Breast Radiologist, or a Consultant Radiologist wishing to develop into breast radiology, to join the friendly and innovative Breast Centre team based at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness.
The post is a 10‑hour per week basis, with support for part‑time or home‐working arrangements. Out‑of‑hours reporting is handled entirely by tele‑radiology and there is currently no on‑call commitment.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the breast imaging needs of the department, covering both screening and symptomatic services.
* Work with a dynamic team of consultant radiologists, nursing staff and medical and surgical specialists.
* Provide a comprehensive service for screening and symptomatic patients, including the participation of advanced practitioners and practice radiographers who perform stereotactic biopsies and film reading.
* Collaborate with the North Cancer Alliance and the North of Scotland Breast Screening Service, benefiting from peer support across Scotland.
* Encourage and take part in a wide range of specialist activities within NHS Highland.
Competencies & Experience
* Experience as a Consultant Breast Radiologist, or a Consultant Radiologist with a strong desire to develop in breast radiology.
* Willingness and capability to work within the specialist services offered by NHS Highland.
