Interim Bookkeeper (1 month initial contract, potential to extend)
Start date: 11 May 2026 | On-site | 4-5 days per week

We are looking for an experienced Interim Bookkeeper to join a small, collaborative team, reporting to the General Manager. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who can quickly take ownership of day-to-day finance processes and ensure accurate and timely financial information.

Key Responsibilities

1. Processing sales and purchase invoices, including accruals
2. Bank reconciliations using Xero
3. Monthly payroll processing
4. Preparation of monthly management information (P&L, balance sheet, cashflow)
5. Reporting performance against budgets
6. Supporting the General Manager with financial insight and ad hoc analysis
7. Managing PAYE and VAT submissions
8. Liaising with banks, payment providers, and external accountants
9. Maintaining fixed asset registers
10. Managing aged debtors and supplier communications
11. Supporting financial compliance across business activities

Skills & Experience

12. Proven experience in a bookkeeping or similar finance role
13. Experience with month-end processes and management information
14. Comfortable working across multiple revenue streams or in an SME environment
15. Experience with Xero (or similar accounting software)
16. Good Excel skill

17. Self-starter with the ability to manage workload and deadlines
18. Highly organised with strong attention to detail
19. Practical and commercially aware
20. Team player with a flexible, hands-on approach

Working Pattern & Pay

21. On-site role
22. 4-5 days per week (depending on workload)
23. Initial contract: ~1 month, with potential to extend
24. Available to start W/C 11th May
25. £18 - £21 per hour + Holiday Pay
