The University of Sheffield is launching exciting new modules and degree programmes in September 2026 and seeks an additional team member to develop and deliver innovative undergraduate and postgraduate degrees within the School of Management.
In this role you will contribute specifically to the development and delivery of financial accounting and auditing teaching, with an emphasis on specialist auditing modules, within our integrated undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum. You will be a key member of the curriculum design team and will also take on a key course level role.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
* Work with the Accounting and Financial Management (AFM) Subject Group to develop and deliver financial accounting and auditing teaching within the School’s taught programmes.
* Improve and enhance the student experience and outcomes through programme delivery based on a detailed understanding of student needs and professional requirements.
* Behave ethically and act as a role‑model for students.
* Undertake scholarship activities in Accounting and Financial Management Education that positively impact student outcomes and are influential on a national or international level.
* Engage in recruitment and outreach activities, including attendance at events such as Open Days.
* Support core administrative areas of the AFM programmes, e.g. student advising and mentoring.
* Provide effective line management where required.
* Represent the institution with external stakeholders to foster collaboration at regional or national level as required.
* Work according to university quality assurance processes and other regulatory frameworks, including professional regulatory bodies such as ACCA and CIMA.
* Actively contribute to the collective interests and values of the University through inclusive, collaborative working.
* Contribute to the principles of the ‘Sheffield Academic’ and make a genuine difference in the subject area and to the University’s achievements.
* Carry out other duties commensurate with the grade and remit of the post.

Essential Criteria
* PhD (or equivalent relevant experience) in a relevant subject.
* Experience of delivering financial accounting and auditing teaching through lectures, workshops and seminars in a higher education setting.
* Teaching qualification such as FHEA, PGCert Higher Education or evidence of working towards one.
* Experience of working and communicating with a team of staff.
* Experience of developing strong working relationships with partners within and external to higher education.
* Ability to develop creative approaches to problem solving.
* Experience of working independently on project activities.
* Effective oral and written communication skills, and effective IT skills.
Salary and Details
* Grade: 8
* Salary: £48,822 – £58,225
* Work arrangement: Full Time
* Duration: 1st September 2026 – 30th September 2027
