Position: Lead Manufacturing Systems Engineer

Location: Omagh

Reporting to: Production Control Manager

Hours of Work: 39¾ hours per week

Join our team at Terex Omagh and embark on an exciting opportunity as we seek a skilled and dedicated Lead Manufacturing Systems Engineer to contribute to our Production Control team.

Working within the Production Control dept, the Lead MSE will be responsible for the development and improvement of existing manufacturing systems, processes, procedures and equipment in a dynamic manufacturing environment. They will need the ability to be able to project manage small to medium sized projects from initiation to completion.

The Lead MSE will be responsible for and oversee the day to day activities of a small manufacturing systems team and along with the Production Control manager they will ensure the consistent development, training, and performance management of this team.

The above plus the main duties and responsibilities of a Manufacturing System Engineer (listed below) are a pre-requisite for this position. Flexibility is required as other duties may be added depending on business needs.

What you’ll do:

Main Duties & Responsibilities

1. Creation and Implementation of Manufacturing Bills of Materials, including Make / Buy Decisions, insourcing & outsourcing projects.
2. Establish / implement containment and route cause fixes to manufacturing issues
3. Implement Best Practice Standard Work onto the Shop floor (machine shop)
4. Implement Lean Manufacturing principles including 5S & Kanban.
5. Production Support to individual production Departments
6. Lead & manage the NPPD Process for operations in terms of driving the operations team to meet manufacturing plans, deliverables & Gate reviews, standard hours reviews.
7. Assist the planning team with Clear To Build process to ensure the correct spec of machine is configured.
8. Managing people including performance reviews & career development

What you’ll bring:

Experience & Qualifications

9. Demonstration of relevant engineering knowledge gained though on job experience / third level qualification
10. Experience leading, training, developing and motivating teams
11. Competent in use of computers including Mircosoft Office.
12. Experience of 3D modeling e.g. CREO & MRP e.g. Oracle would be advantageous
13. Good English communication skill, both written and spoken
14. Good Presentation and interpersonal skills
15. Project management skills

17. Ability to work with others with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines.
18. Able to assess workload and commit to realistic timelines.
19. Able to prioritize work load and quickly establish critical path activities.
20. Able to investigate root cause of process non performance.
