A well-established manufacturing business based in Preston, known for quality products and a strong reputation in the local area. Due to internal project demands, the company is seeking a capable and detail-focused Bookkeeper to support the finance function on a temporary basis for approximately nine months. You will be joining a friendly, supportive team in a fast-paced but welcoming office environment.Your new role
As the Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the day-to-day running of the finance department. Your duties will include:
* Managing purchase and sales ledgers
* Bank reconciliations
* Processing invoices, expenses, and supplier payments
* Credit control activity
* Supporting month-end tasks, including journals, accruals, and prepayments
* Assisting with VAT returns
* Liaising with internal teams regarding costings and financial queries
* Providing general administrative finance support as needed
This is a full-time, office-based role in Preston.
What you'll need to succeed
* Previous experience in a Bookkeeper or Accounts Assistant role
* Strong accuracy, attention to detail, and organisation skills
* Ability to work effectively in a busy office environment
* Experience with accounting software (Sage, Xero, or similar)
* Confident communicating with colleagues at all levels
* A proactive and reliable approach, with the ability to hit the ground running
