Senior Back-End Java Developer (IDAM) – Contract (Inside IR35) We're looking for a Senior Back-End Java Developer with strong Identity & Access Management (IDAM) experience to join an Agile engineering team delivering enhancements, new features and BAU support for a large-scale IDAM service. You'll help modernise and re-platform the platform onto Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), improving reliability, security and delivery pipelines. What you'll be doing Designing and building robust, scalable back-end services in a cloud-based environment Delivering features and continuous improvements alongside incident/support work Contributing to technical design and architecture discussions Working in an Agile squad (stand-ups, planning, retrospectives) and owning Jira tickets end-to-end Supporting integration of large-scale components within a wider web application ecosystem Contributing to incident and change management to maintain service reliability Supporting and mentoring others, sharing knowledge and influencing engineering best practice Participating in out-of-hours support (once per month, Mon–Sat) Essential experience Proven IDAM knowledge and hands-on experience integrating with at least one IDAM platform (e.g., ForgeRock, Okta, Azure AD, Auth0, One Identity) Strong Java back-end development (Spring Boot, Hibernate or similar) CI/CD pipeline experience, especially Jenkins DevOps principles and modern deployment pipelines Git version control and Agile delivery (Jira/Confluence) Reverse engineering/troubleshooting existing services and integrations Comfortable collaborating closely with a team while also working independently and taking ownership Nice to have Azure (including AKS exposure), Terraform (IaC), Ansible Broader CI/CD tooling and automation experience Some front-end experience Clearance / eligibility Active, transferable SC clearance is required Sole UK national Contract details Inside IR35 (PAYE engagement) Remote working (UK-based), full-time London £525/day Inside IR35 Apply with your latest CV highlighting your Java, IDAM and CI/CD experience.
