We’re recruiting an experienced Site Mechanical Commissioning Technician to support a large‑scale UK power project during a critical commissioning phase. This is a hands‑on, site‑based contract for professionals who enjoy ownership, pace and technical challenge.

Contract: Circa 4 months (extension likely)
Start: ASAP
Rotation: 10 hours per day | 10 on / 4 off
Engagement: Ltd Company – Outside IR35
Rates: Negotiable
Location: Northwest UK
Eligibility: Full UK working rights required
The Role
You’ll be responsible for executing mechanical commissioning activities through to successful system handover, including:
* Commissioning of mechanical plant and systems (fuel, cooling, water, HVAC, fire protection)
* System and pipework cleaning (flushing, air blowing, pigging)
* Testing, optimisation and fault‑finding of mechanical systems
* Completing commissioning documentation and test records
* Carrying out inspections against drawings, P&IDs and system descriptions
* Working closely with commissioning leads, contractors and client teams
* Operating in full compliance with EHS, LOTO and permit‑to‑work procedures
About You
* 5+ years’ experience in mechanical commissioning within power generation or heavy process environments
* ONC / OND (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering
* Strong site safety awareness and permit systems knowledge
* Confident working in multidisciplinary, international teams
* Clear communicator
* Full UK working rights
