Position Summary
This position will require the candidate to perform project engineering work, applying standard and advanced engineering problem‑solving techniques, procedures and criteria to develop or improve processes and systems. The candidate will independently develop clear and specific objectives for assignments, which may involve investigating several alternative solutions. They will translate thoughts and ideas into engineered solutions with supervisor approval and provide guidance to technicians and other engineers. The candidate will effectively participate in team settings to achieve results and lead moderate to large projects.
Additionally, the candidate will manage and oversee engineering projects from conception through completion, ensuring they meet specified requirements, budgets, and timelines. This role involves coordinating with various departments, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure project success.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
* Project Leadership & Strategic Oversight: Drive end‑to‑end project execution by developing comprehensive plans, defining milestones, and aligning budgets with strategic objectives. Proactively monitor progress, conduct in-depth risk analyses, implement mitigation strategies, and provide executive‑level reporting to ensure alignment with business goals.
* Engineering and Technical Support: Provide technical guidance, review and approve drawings/documents, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
* Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross‑functional teams, serving as the main point of contact for stakeholders. Keep everyone aligned by leading project meetings and sharing regular progress updates through management reports and team check‑ins.
* Resource Management: Allocate resources, oversee project procurement, and manage subcontractors and vendors for timely delivery.
* Continuous Improvement: Support continuous improvement through identification and elimination of operational and manufacturing constraints to aid productivity, implement best practices, identify process improvements, and conduct post‑product evaluations to drive improvement.
* Department Support: Provide training and guidance to a team of Manufacturing engineers with regards to project management and delivery. Support the day‑to‑day running of the department during supervisor absence.
Education, Experience, Skills & Knowledge
Required:
* BS degree in Engineering plus appropriate continuous training.
* Strong project management / product development skills.
* 5+ years of experience in related field or project leadership or supervisory experience.
* Advanced knowledge of engineering principles.
* Ability to solve complex problems and complete multiple projects, using recognized problem‑solving methods to make decisions.
* Experience of developing and achieving future state plans and leading others in change initiatives.
* Excellent oral and written communication.
* Excellent computer and typical office software skills, including MS Project.
Preferred:
* Extensive knowledge and experience of CNC equipment, programming (preferably ISO based) and tooling.
* Good knowledge of general manufacturing and finishing processes.
* Application of Lean tools.
* Experience of ERP systems e.g. SAP, Oracle.

Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements
