Workplace: White City, London - Hybrid
12 month Fixed-Term Contract
Senior Strategist
We are looking for a Senior Strategist to join our collaborative Client Strategy team.
As a key strategic partner, you’ll help deepen relationships with advertisers by providing insight into their category, audiences and how ITV can help solve marketing challenges. You’ll build deeper, longer-term partnerships that position ITV not just as a media partner, but a business partner.
This is a varied and stimulating role. In any given week you might work on campaigns for major advertisers like Tesco or Unilever, encourage new brands to trial TV, help position shows like Love Island or Coronation Street, or even develop thought-leadership on an audience segment or product category.
You'll work with specialist teams, such as cultural strategists, programme experts and the measurement innovation team, to bring campaigns to life and ultimately drive increased investment into ITV.
This role is ideal for someone excited to work across a diverse creative canvas, from cultural insight to branded entertainment and campaign effectiveness. You’ll bring agile thinking, strategic smarts and the curiosity to find new ways to help advertisers connect with ITV’s audiences.
The team
The Client Strategy Team sits within ITV Commercial and works with over 1,500 advertisers to help them cut through the clutter, harness popular culture, build brand fame and drive transformational business results.
The team’s overall remit is to build stronger, more strategic relationships with advertisers. We partner closely with the broader commercial team to answer briefs, ensuring ideas are insight-led, aligned with brand and creative strategies and designed for measurable effectiveness.
Beyond briefs, we also build long-term partnerships; drawing on ITV’s knowledge and expertise to help address marketing challenges across areas such as audience targeting, brand positioning, campaign effectiveness, and the role of TV within the wider channel mix.
Responsibilities:
Engage with clients across three key areas:
* Advising on creative campaigns, or enhancing them through Creative Partnerships
* Sharing insights from ITV’s Cultural Strategy and Commercial Insight teams to uncover new ways of thinking
* Proving the effectiveness of TV’s contribution to a wider marketing campaign
General:
* Develop deep strategic relationships with clients
* Collaborate with internal teams including the Cultural Strategy, programme experts and measurement innovation teams, to maximise ITV’s insight into audiences, programmes and advertising effectiveness
* Embrace ITV’s full creative canvas and technologies to engage communities through compelling storytelling and innovative brand experiences
Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)
* Extensive background in strategy or planning, ideally from creative/advertising agency or another media owner
* Excellent working knowledge of creative and media effectiveness, comms planning and creative processes
* Strong insight and data/research skills - ideally with a hands on awareness of working with semiotics and/or qualitative research methods
* Comfortable working “in the grey”; where briefs may not be perfect, timelines may be tight and agility/commercial awareness are key
Other things we’re looking for (key criteria)
* Excellent consumer and audience understanding
* A “culture-first” mindset- able to connect brand strategies to trends and cultural moments
* Excellent communication skills & ability to work in partnership with a wide range of internal stakeholders
* Creative and innovative thinking to drive new ideas, as well as being engaging, insightful & curious to learn more
* Exceptional account management skills- able to manage a dynamic workflow across different team members and departments
Closing date: 30th May 2025
