Role Purpose
As a Senior Project Manager at Aviva, you will be a key agent of change—leading, designing, planning and delivering projects across the full lifecycle. You will drive successful outcomes on standalone projects or within wider programmes, ensuring delivery against scope, time, cost, quality and stakeholder expectations.
You will play a central role in:
* Delivering successful change aligned to defined success criteria
* Leading clear, consistent communication across business and transformation stakeholders
* Ensuring smooth deployment and transition to operational teams
* Supporting adoption of solutions and leading engagement activities
* Continuously improving project management methodologies and tools
Key Accountabilities
Project Delivery
* Lead and govern projects to achieve agreed KPIs (time, cost, quality, scope, risk and budget).
* Shape and scope projects, defining the right delivery approach.
* Act as a trusted business partner, offering professional project management expertise and challenge.
* Own and maintain high-level integrated planning to support stakeholder engagement.
* Implement robust governance around risks, issues and escalation.
* Manage and track project budgets, business cases and change controls.
* Identify, secure and manage project resources.
* Apply Agile delivery approaches where appropriate.
Stakeholder & Communication Management
* Develop and maintain stakeholder maps and communication strategies.
* Build strong relationships with business representatives, sponsors and suppliers.
* Communicate project vision, progress and risks clearly and concisely.
* Provide high‑quality reporting that supports transparency and early risk identification.
Change Deployment & Transition
* Engage with service and release management to support new solutions.
* Oversee transition to operations, managing risks and ensuring quality.
* Provide post‑handover support, ensuring solution performance meets expectations.
Adoption & Engagement
* Enable business impact assessment and support benefits identification.
* Create project-specific content for wider communication initiatives.
* Encourage business feedback and validate solutions against initial requirements.
Continuous Improvement & Community Contribution
* Challenge and enhance delivery processes, tools, estimating and standards.
* Improve project management methodology across Aviva Claims.
* Act as a role model, offering expertise and guidance to other PMs.
* Share lessons learned and deliver briefings on areas of expertise.
