White Horse Employment are delighted to be partnering with a well-established and highly respected organisation in Melksham, who are now looking to appoint an experienced Payroll Manager to take ownership of their payroll function. This is a key role within the HR and Finance teams, offering the opportunity to manage end-to-end payroll while also supporting HR initiatives.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Take full ownership of the monthly payroll cycle, ensuring accuracy across pay, allowances, and statutory requirements
* Maintain employee records within the HRIS and payroll system, processing joiners, leavers, and contractual updates efficiently
* Oversee pensions administration, benefits processing, and the management of absence, holiday, and sickness pay
* Prepare clear, accurate payroll reports and provide guidance on changes in tax, legislation, and compliance requirements
* Contribute to annual reward activities, including pay reviews, bonus cycles, and wider compensation initiatives
* Work closely with HR colleagues to support projects, share expertise, and drive improvements in payroll processes
* Monitor and analyse payroll data to highlight trends, provide insight, and ensure compliance with wage and working time regulations
* Continuously seek opportunities to refine and streamline payroll procedures to improve accuracy and efficiency
* Proven experience in payroll, ideally including variable pay
* A strong understanding of UK Government pay legislation and compliance requirements
* Strong IT skills, with proficiency in HR/Payroll systems
* Payroll qualifications (desirable)
