Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety. This position is perfect for someone with a strong background in hospitality and culinary arts, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to contribute to our culinary vision.

Duties

* Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
* Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient food production.
* Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
* Coordinate with suppliers for fresh ingredients and manage inventory effectively.
* Train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques and safety protocols.
* Help create an inspiring environment that fosters teamwork and creativity among kitchen personnel.
* Monitor food quality and presentation before serving to ensure customer satisfaction.
* Assist in managing kitchen operations during peak hours, ensuring timely service.

Experience

* Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality setting is essential.
* Strong culinary skills with a solid understanding of various cooking techniques.
* Experience in team management, with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team.
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in a kitchen environment.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
* A passion for food production and an eagerness to learn and grow within the culinary field.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to £35,000.00 per year

* Cooking: 5 years (required)
* Kitchen management: 3 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

* Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate or above (required)

* United Kingdom (required)

Location:

* Kelso TD5 7HT (preferred)
