Who are we looking for?
We are seeking an experienced College Nurse to facilitate and develop the provision of nursing care and health promotion for students and staff within the college community. A professional who will always act as the students’ advocate, using the NMC Professional Code of Conduct as a framework for nursing practice. This role will allow you to engage directly with learners and support teams. It’s rewarding, and you will join a friendly, loyal, and caring team.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Lead the planning, review, and delivery of personalised care plans and routines for students.
2. Supervise and support staff in delivering personal care for students with disabilities and learning difficulties, including moving and handling.
3. Assist with the assessment of moving and handling students and their handling profiles.
4. Develop documented clinical procedures for interventions required by students, such as gastroscopy feeding, suctioning, oxygen therapy, epilepsy, and medication administration.
5. Identify training requirements and deliver staff training within the faculty.
Requirements for this role:
* Essential - Registered nurse (on the relevant part of the register).
* Desirable - Experience or exposure working within a school or college setting.
* Please note that an Enhanced DBS check, including Barred Lists, will be conducted for this role.
Please note that this position is for a 41-week academic year to allow time for administrative duties.
