Description
An award-winning leader in the UK property and construction industry working across civil engineering, construction and facilities management seeks a solicitor to work as part of a small and supportive legal team. You will advise senior stakeholders on legal matters across construction, civil engineering and services.
Responsibilities:
* Review, negotiate, and advise on terms for construction or civil engineering contracts such as NEC and JCT, identifying risks
* Draft and negotiate consultant appointments, novation agreements, collateral warranties, subcontracts, and bond documentation
* Advise on and manage disputes both in and outside court
* Provide advice on general commercial contracts, facility management services, data protection, and anti-corruption issues
* Analyze legislative changes and support corporate governance
We are looking for:
* Solicitor admitted in the UK
* Open to junior or experienced candidates, with work tailored accordingly
* Some knowledge of construction and civil engineering sectors preferred
* Experience with construction contracts like NEC and bespoke terms required
* Strong drafting, communication skills, and attention to detail
* Commercially astute with decision-making and problem-solving skills
* Proficient IT skills
