The Project:
Our Aviation team is growing in 2026 and we have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Director – Project Management to join our team on a permanent basis. As Associate Project Director you will represent Mace whilst interfacing with our key clients. You will be required to lead others effectively, give clear direction, coach and support others to reach their full potential.

You'll need to have:
* Leadership responsibilities for the planning and delivery of new British Airways Waterside Campus which needs to be relocated as the current location impacts the planned new 3rd runway. The new campus location will be located on existing land or new land to be acquired. Note the New Campus may be managed / constructed by either Heathrow or British Airways. The existing campus cannot not be demolished until a new campus is constructed.
* Experience in construction of new office complexes / campus type developments.
* Role will require extensive negotiation with British Airways.
* Experience in forming / establishing a programme team, setting strategic direction and driving results.
Your responsibilities:
* Oversees project timeframes and project budgets, and ensures budgets are managed diligently and highlights any risks, challenges and mitigations.
* On behalf of external/third-party clients oversee the project management of the project/s on an individual and team basis from inception to post-completion.
* Ensures the successful delivery of the project in line with all stakeholders' expectations communicating strategies to the wider client/ consultant/contractor team.
* Provides subject matter expertise and guidance to support the success of the project
* Oversees management of the client and consultant team and all external/project stakeholders to ensure effective completion of the project in line with client expectations.
* Actively drives collaboration between all parties.
* Produces design and authorities programme to be integrated with procurement and delivery programme.
* Manages the timely delivery to programme from project inception/brief, through design development and planning, contractor procurement
and construction phase in accordance with the overall delivery program and agreed project milestones.
* Partners with multiple internal and external stakeholders, working in collaboration to (implement strategy/programmes/initiatives).
* Delivers continuous improvements in processes through application of best practices and lessons learned.
Qualifications:
* Experience working in the Aviation sector.
* Strong NEC experience
* MCIOB/MAPM/MRICS/MICE (or local equivalent).
* Demonstrable evidence of deep project management expertise.
