Electrical Design Engineer

Your Role
Applies Engineering concepts and theories to undertake, with guidance/supervision, the development of designs, calculations and technical solutions for Babcock products and services across the Engineering Product Lifecycle.
Responsibilities
* Providing technical advice and assurance on existing electrical building services systems
* Maintaining design configuration, drawings and technical documentation
* Reviewing technical queries, concessions and defect reports to support safe operation
* Undertaking surveys and assessments, including asset condition and obsolescence studies
* Supporting new and modified designs, contributing to upgrades and life‑extension activities
Essential Experience
* Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and systems
* Proficient knowledge of IET Wiring Regulations BS 7671
* Experience producing and interpreting electrical engineering drawings
* Technical experience in electrical building services
* Ability to apply engineering judgement in a regulated environment
Qualifications
* HNC or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
* Candidates not yet meeting all requirements are encouraged to apply; where appropriate, a structured development pathway may be offered, with appointment at trainee level and clear progression opportunities
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
