We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon to join our multidisciplinary breast care team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert surgical management of breast cancer and benign breast conditions, utilising both oncological and reconstructive (oncoplastic) techniques to optimise patient outcomes. This is a full‑time job based at the Dudley Group of Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, main site, the Russells Hall Hospital in Dudley. The breast surgery is only available at the main site of the DGFT, and travel between other sites of the DGFT is not required.
Main duties of the job
* Perform a full range of oncoplastic and reconstructive breast surgeries, including mastectomy, breast‑conserving surgery, sentinel lymph node biopsy, and immediate/delayed breast reconstruction.
* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including medical oncologists, radiologists, plastic surgeons, pathologists, and specialist nurses, to provide comprehensive breast cancer care.
* Assess, diagnose, and develop individualized treatment plans for patients with breast cancer and benign breast disease.
* Participate in clinical audits, research, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and surgical outcomes.
* Supervise and mentor junior doctors, surgical trainees, and medical students.
* Engage in patient education, counselling, and informed decision‑making regarding surgical options and outcomes.
* Contribute to service development, innovation, and implementation of best practices in oncoplastic breast surgery.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
* Medical Degree from a recognised University
* Radiology Registrar training scheme or equivalent
* FRCR or recognised equivalent qualification
* Completion of training in Screening and symptomatic breast imaging as per RCR curriculum and experience at consultant level
* MRCS/MRCP/FRCS/FRCP or other postgraduate degrees/diplomas
* Full GMC registration with a license to practice
* Be on the GMC specialist radiology register (or be within 6 months of achieving CCT/CESR)
Up‑to‑date knowledge of clinical issues related to speciality
* Ability to apply research outcomes to clinical problems
* Must demonstrate up‑to‑date knowledge of clinical issues related to diagnostic radiology including radionuclide imaging studies
* Awareness of current developments and initiatives.
