Interim Financial Controller – Financial Services (12-month FTC)
An established and growing Bank is seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller to provide strong financial leadership during a period of transition.
This is a high-impact role within a regulated financial services environment, offering the opportunity to lead financial control, support strategic decision-making, and develop a high-performing finance team.
The Role
You'll take ownership of financial control and reporting, ensuring robust governance, accuracy, and compliance. You'll work closely with FP&A, Finance Change and operational teams, and play a key role in ongoing finance transformation and risk management.
Key responsibilities
* Lead day-to-day financial control activities, ensuring SLAs, controls and deadlines are met
* Own month-end, balance sheet reconciliations and statutory/regulatory reporting
* Oversee year-end, and lead the external audit process
* Prepare and review regulatory returns and risk reporting for senior committees
Leadership & people
* Lead, mentor and develop a small but capable finance team
* Support the ongoing development of the Senior Finance Manager
* Act as a visible finance leader, presenting to senior stakeholders where required
About you
* Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
* Significant post-qualification experience in financial services
* Strong technical accounting and regulatory reporting knowledge
