To support our progress, we are currently recruiting for an Engineering Team Leader to come and join our team at our Eclipse factory in Leicestershire LE67 6HS.
JOB PURPOSE
As the Engineering Team Leader, you will be an inspirational leader of a multi-disciplined engineering team, who role models our core values at all times. Delivering the highest standards of health and safety, sustainability, cost control and multi-machine availability, whilst driving improved efficiencies in maintenance activities. Working with the Engineering Manager to optimise the potential of both the shift engineering team and the asset base, you will support the development of a culture focused on both sustainable and continuous improvement, where our people and process deliver exceptional performance.
The shift pattern for this Team Leader role is a 5 on 5 off day and nights, 12 hours shift patterns (5,5,4 shift patterns), option of overtime is there for those that would like to earn extra.
Health, Safety & Wellbeing
Create a culture where the health, safety and wellbeing of colleagues is the absolute priority.
Ensure all statutory obligations, company policies and procedures are understood and adhered to, by all direct reports, at all times.
Track progress of SHE Assure actions for the team.
Assist in the development of Standard Safe Operating Procedures (SSOP) and Risk Assessments (RA).
Carry out Standard Safe Operating Procedure (SSOP) reviews.
Carry out perimeter inspections.
Audit safety and machine checks.
Audit contractor management system.
Leadership
Deliver visible leadership and engagement of the team to create and embed a culture of high performance and development.
Act as a role model of Ibstock's values and behaviours.Plan and implement training and development, including recruitment and succession plans to create a flexible, effective multi-skilled team.
Coach and develop the team to maximise their strengths, and to close any development gaps.
Operational Excellence
Monitor and manage departmental performance measures.
Ensure all relevant data is recorded accurately.
Assist in root cause analysis (RCA) for any relevant non-conformances at the factory.
Implement and sustain world-class 5S standards within the engineering environment.
Prioritise work to match production requirements, ensuring Engineering team responds effectively to breakdown situations.
Utilise a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) system and work closely with the Stores Co-ordinator and Engineering Planner to facilitate planned preventative maintenance and stock control.
Deliver Toolbox talks (TBT's).
Progress Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Actions.
Validate standard of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) work.
Carry out planned preventative maintenance, inspections, service and repairs.
Carry out reactive maintenance activities as required.
Sustainability
Lead the team to make a positive contribution to the local community, and support the most vulnerable in society.
Continuously strive to improve the environmental performance of products and operations.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Has knowledge of current Health, Safety, Environmental and Employment legislation.
Is an outstanding team leader who is flexible, and meets challenge with a pragmatic and resilient approach.
Has strong influencing and engagement skills demonstrated through values based leadership and role modelling positive leadership behaviours.
A natural coach and team builder with exceptional interpersonal skills who enjoys developing and leading others to improve their performance.
Able to develop a capable and multi-discipline shift engineering team.
Can implement and drive performance improvement using Continuous Improvement tools & techniques.
Has the ability to analyse, interpret and present data to identify key trends and opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship and Qualification.
Completed an apprenticeship in Engineering (Dual Disciplined or Mechanical bias).
Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship to level 3 city and Guilds, NVQ etc
Time Served, Advanced Apprenticeship (Level 3)in Mechanical or Electrical Maintenance (or equivalent)
