The role will provide senior technical leadership, ensure robust correlation with physical testing, and enable faster, higher-quality vehicle development through advanced virtual engineering methods. Key Duties and Responsibilities: CAE & Simulation Strategy: Define and own the vehicle CAE and simulation strategy across NVH, CFD (aero & thermal), and vehicle performance. Ensure simulation capabilities support all development phases, from concept and advanced engineering through to production sign-off. Set standards for model quality, correlation, data management, and governance. Drive the balance between model fidelity, timing, and cost to support programme delivery. Technical Leadership & Oversight: Act as senior technical authority for vehicle-level CAE and simulation. Guide complex, cross-domain trade-offs (e.g. aero vs. NVH vs. vehicle dynamics). Ensure robust simulation-to-test correlation and continuous method validation. Review and approve key CAE deliverables at programme gateways. NVH, CFD & Vehicle Performance Leadership: Vehicle NVH: Oversee full-vehicle NVH simulation, including structural dynamics, acoustics, road noise, wind noise, and powertrain-induced NVH. Vehicle CFD: Lead aerodynamic and thermal CFD activities, including external aero, cooling, heat management, and cabin airflow where applicable. Vehicle Performance: Oversee vehicle dynamics, ride & handling, durability, and performance simulation activities. Promote integrated, system-level vehicle optimisation across these domains. Organisation & People Leadership: Lead and develop managers and senior engineers across NVH, CFD, and vehicle performance teams. Tools, Digitalisation & Continuous Improvement: Own the roadmap and budget definition for CAE tools, automation, HIGH PERFORMANCE PRODUCT usage, and digitalisation. Drive adoption of model-based development, optimisation, and digital twin concepts. Improve efficiency through process standardisation, automation, and reuse of models. Ensure compliance with internal quality, safety, and regulatory requirements. Qualification & Experience: Required Qualifications & Experience Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline (Master’s or PhD preferred). Extensive experience in vehicle CAE and simulation within automotive, motorsport, or advanced mobility sectors. Strong background in at least one of NVH, CFD, or vehicle performance, with working knowledge across all three. Proven senior leadership experience managing multiple teams or managers.
