Location: Dartford
Salary: £55,000
Hours: Monday - Friday
The Opportunity
A well-established fresh produce business supplying major UK retailers is seeking an experienced Technical Manager to join its growing technical team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong professional with experience in food safety, quality management and retailer compliance. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining customer standards, driving continuous improvement and supporting the delivery of high-quality products across the business.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing customer specifications and retailer platforms
* Maintaining supplier approval and due diligence systems
* Investigating customer complaints and non-conformances
* Supporting quality and food safety activities across the site
* Conducting internal audits and driving corrective actions
* Maintaining HACCP, BRCGS and Red Tractor systems
* Supporting third-party audits and customer visits
* Reviewing and updating policies, procedures and technical documentation
* Leading food safety culture initiatives across the business
* Producing technical reports and KPI analysis
* Liaising with suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders
About You
We are keen to speak with candidates who possess:
* Previous experience within Fresh Produce (essential)
* Strong knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP and Food Safety Management Systems
* Experience working with UK retail customers
* Knowledge of customer specifications and complaint management
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
* A proactive and hands-on approach to quality and compliance
* Full UK Driving Licence
