Logistics Planners are responsible for coordinating and scheduling traffic with the objective of meeting prescribed service standards and execution of the procurement strategy. In this role you will manage carrier activity for a particular source point, region, or customer while minimizing freight cost. This individual will also participate in the College Recruit Development Program. Within the program, College Recruits can expect to:
•Meet one-on-one, quarterly, for their first two years. with a Talent Manager to discuss their personalized career development and receive guidance
•Participate in an instructor led, classroom leadership development training
•Network with other College Recruits and business leaders within their regional location and across North America
•Participate in professional development webinars and opt in to being connected with peers to help them navigate life after graduation
Primary duties & responsibilities:
•Coordinate, route, and schedule inbound and/or outbound traffic to include hot or expedited requests.
•Effectively communicate with service providers, associates, customers and other third parties
•Responsible for activity’s on time service, capacity management, and freight costs to ensure attainment of budget and service level requirements.
•Manage delivery appointment acquisition process and daily shipping volumes for all shipping points.
•Ensure adherence to customer requested ship and delivery dates evaluating and communicating trade offs between costs and service.
•Identify, recommend, and support the implementation of corrective action or continuous improvement opportunities to include adjustments to internal and external processes, routing guide, and carrier performance.
•Prepare and distribute reports per internal and customer requirements.
•Monitor carrier performance out of assigned shipping points or region. Lead performance reviews and corrective action process with service providers.
Eligibility & Qualifications:
•Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in relevant field
•Graduating within the current academic year
•Ability to work, in person or hybrid schedule (role dependent)
