Job Title: Research Associate in Pain, Autism and Digital Health School: School of Health Sciences - Faculty of Life and Health Sciences Campus: Any Salary: £33,020 pro rata (Part-Time 17.5 hours per week/Fixed term until 1 January 2028) Closing Date: 23 June 2026 Reference Number: 042726 - ABOUT US - We are a university with a national and international reputation for excellence, innovation and regional engagement, making a major contribution to the economic, social and cultural development of Northern Ireland. Our core business activities are teaching and learning, widening access to education, research and innovation and technology and knowledge transfer. - THE ROLE - To support and lead the delivery of qualitative, quantitative and patient and public involvement (PPI) components of a funded mixed-methods feasibility study. The Research Associate will lead participant recruitment and consent, conduct qualitative interviews with autistic individuals, coordinate co-design workshops with the PPI steering group, and support Phase 2 feasibility data collection, contributing to the development of an autism-adapted digital self-management intervention for headaches. - ABOUT YOU - - PhD (awarded or near completion with thesis submitted) in a relevant discipline (e.g. health sciences, psychology, public health, allied health, or related field). - Experience of conducting qualitative research, including semi-structured interviews and qualitative and quantitative data analysis. - Experience of working with autistic individuals and/or neurodivergent populations or those with communication differences in research, clinical, or applied health contexts.
