Join to apply for the Principal Regeneration Officer (Three Bridges Station Improvement Scheme) role at Crawley Borough Council.

Crawley Borough Council is leading the transformation of the Borough, delivering a £125 million programme of ambitious regeneration projects to boost job creation, business growth and economic recovery. One flagship project is the Three Bridges Station Improvement Scheme – a multi-million pound infrastructure project delivered in partnership with West Sussex County Council, Network Rail and Govia Thameslink Railway through the Crawley Growth Programme. The project aims to modernise the area around Three Bridges railway station, including improvements to forecourt, a new pedestrian and cycle entrance, dedicated safe spaces for passenger and taxi drop off and waiting areas, improved parking facilities and accessibility, creating a safer, vibrant space with excellent connectivity for all users.

We are looking for an exceptional individual with a proven track record in delivering complex regeneration projects – particularly in the transport sector – through effective and collaborative partnership. The ideal candidate will bring experience of working closely with railway authorities and other key stakeholders, and a passion to deliver the Three Bridges Station Improvement Scheme.


Responsibilities

* Contribute to the successful delivery of regeneration schemes with a focus on transport and sustainable infrastructure, applying strong knowledge of planning and public procurement procedures.
* Work in partnership with stakeholders at all levels, building effective relationships and using excellent communication and presentation skills.
* Project manage and deliver complex projects using robust project management practices and tools.


Qualifications and experience

* Excellent understanding of regeneration programme delivery and policy in a public transport context, with significant experience in designing and delivering sustainable transport infrastructure schemes.
* Proven experience of partnership working in regeneration delivery and ability to collaborate with railway authorities and other stakeholders.
* Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects from inception to delivery.

Crawley is an exciting place to work, with a vibrant town centre and excellent transport connections. We have a hybrid working setup which allows a balance of working from home and at least two days in our modern office.

Additional information

* Fixed term contract for up to 24 months.
* Ability to attend occasional evening meetings and travel to role-related contacts with external partners and stakeholders.
* This is a politically restricted post for the purposes of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989. The post holder is unable to take part in political activity as defined in current regulations.
