Overview

The Team: The Nursing Director Sub Acute and Ambulatory Care Services is a senior leadership role within the Launceston General Hospital Department of Medicine.

The Role: Provide effective leadership and management of the nursing staff and services and set strategic direction within the Department of Medicine - Sub Acute and Ambulatory Care Service Division of the Launceston General Hospital (LGH) in consultation with the Clinical Director - Department of Medicine.

You will need:

* In conjunction with the Executive Director Operations & Performance lead the delivery of clinical governance systems to achieve and promote the highest standards of service delivery, quality improvement and risk management strategies.
* Direct the operational activities of designated clinical services consistent with Agency objectives and provide effective leadership, coordination and direction for the management of the human, financial and material resources to achieve these objectives.
* Assist in the development and application of clinical management policies, protocols and guidelines that will enable the evaluation of services against best practice standards.
* Provide leadership and direction in the areas of research/education, continuous quality improvement and innovative redesign.
* Manage clinical and corporate risk within the established framework while ensuring a safe environment for patients and staff.
* Support Nurse Unit Managers to facilitate a range of initiatives to enhance the quality of patient care in all areas of responsibility by providing a learning environment through mentoring, team development, individual capability development and managing performance.

Details of appointment

Permanent, full time, day worker (with on-call) position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.


Salary

$144,146 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

* Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

* Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
