Bank Registered Nurse/HCA Covid outreach
We are launching a targeted COVID-19 community outreach vaccination programme aimed at increasing vaccine uptake in vulnerable populations.
We are recruiting Registered Nurses and Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) to join our mobile outreach teams. You'll deliver vaccinations in a range of community-based settings clinics to ensure accessible and equitable healthcare for all.
This is a vital role for individuals passionate about public health, reducing health inequalities, and making a real difference on the ground.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities:
For Registered Nurses:
* Administer COVID-19 vaccines safely and efficiently in line with clinical guidance.
* Carry out patient assessments, consent processes, and pre-vaccination health checks.
* Supervise and support HCAs and other team members.
* Respond to any clinical incidents or adverse reactions.
* Maintain accurate clinical records.
* Support patients throughout the vaccination process, including reassurance and aftercare if required.
* Health and lifestyle advice.
* Help prepare vaccination areas and maintain cleanliness.
* Administering vaccines under national protocol in instances only where the registered nurse has completed the consenting process with the patient.
* Maintain confidentiality and support infection control protocols.
About us
We are a large practice providing a number of external services, this year we have added Covid -19 outreach and will be offering vaccinations at a number of locations across Central and West Lancs. You will be part of a small core team, working flexibly to provide a 5 day a week service. Some previous Covid -19 experience would be useful but not essential.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered with NMC Nurse / Midwife
* Experience in vaccine administration or similar clinical setting
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in community environments
* Knowledge of infection prevention and control
* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent experience)
* Previous experience in a healthcare or public-facing support role
* Confident working in non-clinical and community-based environments
* Team-oriented with good attention to detail
* Knowledge of infection prevention and control
* Experience working with diverse or hard-to-reach populations
* Public health or community outreach experience
* Basic Life Support certification (training can be provided)
