Residential Property Lawyer / Conveyancer – Taunton – Fee Earner to Senior Associate
Location: Taunton (with flexible and hybrid working options)
Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: £45,000 – £70,000 (dependent on experience)
The Role
You’ll be responsible for managing a varied caseload of residential property matters, including:
* Freehold and leasehold transactions
* New builds and shared ownership
* Transfers and buy‑to‑let properties
* Remortgage, equity release, and auction sales/purchases
* Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and title reports
* Conducting property searches, checking titles, and preparing client reports
* Liaising with clients, lenders, estate agents, surveyors, and other professionals
* Managing registrations, SDLT submissions, and file closure
* Ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and AML procedures
Candidate Requirements
* Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive (with practice rights), or Licensed Conveyancer qualification
* Strong technical and drafting skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
* Confidence in managing matters independently
* High attention to detail and accuracy
* Motivation, organisation, and a proactive mindset
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal IT systems
* Previous experience in a law firm environment supporting fee earners
