We are inviting applications for a -month fixed term contract within the Surgical Ophthalmology service.
The Patient Pathway Team Leader is responsible for coordinating and maintaining the delivery of efficient and professional administration to the Surgical Ophthalmology services. They will be required to provide line management, supervision and support to all Patient Pathway Administrators and Assistant Patient Pathway Administrators within their area of the service.
The post holder will be required to take responsibility for providing comprehensive administration support, working in conjunction with the Service Management team and other Team Leaders to meet local and national performance targets, specifically with regards to supporting the delivery of the week referral to treatment (RTT) pathway.
They will have overall oversight of the administrative function within the department and will work with various service units to deliver high-quality, sustainable delivery of all services through efficient and effective patient pathways
Main duties of the job
Line manage and support Patient Pathway Administrators and Assistant Patient Pathway Administrators. This includes ensuring all staff are appraised appropriately and lead recruitment and retention. Acting in accordance with Trust HR policies; including those related to performance and sickness management.
Provide leadership to the Patient Pathway Administration team to ensure the production of high-quality clinical correspondence, timely booking of Outpatient appointments; both diagnostic investigations and consultant-led clinic appointments and efficient response to/first point of contact for patients, referrers and other healthcare professionals.
Act as a role model to these admin teams; provide day-to-day support including training as required.
