Job Title: Tutor for Children with Special Educational Needs
TP Tutors are currently working with Schools and Local Authorities within the Northumberland area. We are seeking an individual who is passionate about making a difference in children’s lives by helping them achieve their academic goals and improve their attendance.
This role involves working closely with students on a 1-1 basis, providing high-quality sessions across various subjects to maximize their potential and engagement. It may also involve working with children outside of a mainstream setting.
Minimum Requirements:
* Professional Teaching Qualifications are preferred (Qualified Teacher Status, QTS).
* Strong subject knowledge of your chosen curriculum area (Primary, up to GCSE English and/or Math).
* Experience working with children/young people with SEND, SEMH, and other additional needs.
* An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one (support available).
* Professional references covering the last 24 months from your two most recent employers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Planning, creating, and delivering engaging sessions for children working below expectations.
* Applying behavioral strategies to ensure children are engaged.
* Using knowledge of each child's needs and interests to create a child-centered approach.
* Assessing pupils, providing feedback, and planning next steps to enhance learning outcomes.

All pay rates include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This is a temporary position, with potential for permanent roles in the future.
