Adjunct Faculty - Psychology of Sport & Exercise Science
Manchester Community College is seeking qualified individuals who are interested in adjunct teaching at the College on a course-by-course basis; strong academic background is required.
We are seeking an instructor with a background in psychology and a genuine interest in fitness, health, and behavior change to teach a college-level course in Psychology of Sport and Exercise Science. This course explores both theoretical and applied aspects of psychology related to physical activity, motivation, and overall wellness. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychology and a genuine passion for fitness, behavior change, and helping others build sustainable health habits.
This course will start for the fall semester in August 2026 and will meet on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5pm - 9pm.
Adjunct appointments are temporary, for a specified contract period and may require in classroom or online instruction.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Master’s degree in Psychology, Sport Psychology, Exercise Science, or related field. Three years in clinical setting or teaching.
OR
Education: Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a major study in Psychology. Five years practice in clinic setting or teaching.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Certified Personal Trainer
* Experience applying psychological principles in real-world settings
* Familiarity with current trends in fitness, mental health, and behavior change
* Passion for fitness, wellness, and behavior change
* Ability to make content practical, relatable, and engaging
* Comfort facilitating discussions around sensitive and relevant topics (e.g., body image, mental health, social pressures)
The Vice President of Academic Affairs will determine adjunct levels. Adjunct level will be determined based upon Education and Experience. Current rates are:
Level 1 - $825.00 per contact hour for the course
Level 2 - $900..00 per contact hour for the course
Level 3 - $975.00 per contact hour for the course
