Interim Residence Life Educator
Join the Student Activities Board as an Interim Residence Life Educator (RLE) to deliver a student‑development focused curriculum and co‑curriculum in support of Messiah University’s mission.
Position Summary
The RLE is a live‑in professional educator responsible for teaching, supervising, evaluating undergraduate student staff and creating a safe, inclusive living‑learning environment. This temporary full‑time position (900 hours, 5 months) begins immediately or January 3 – May 22, 2026.
Education
* Master’s degree in student affairs, higher education, counseling or related field required.
Experience
* 1 year of post‑undergraduate residence life experience.

* Effective pedagogical design and delivery in curricular & co‑curricular contexts.
* Commitment to service, reconciliation, and justice.
* Strong communication, interpersonal, administrative and supervisory skills.

* Valid driver’s license and availability for on‑call duties.
Special Working Conditions
* Live‑in position; 40 hours/week with nights, weekends and holidays.
* On‑call response duties during emergencies.
* Valid driver’s license required.
* Reactivate presence when students are on campus.
Essential Duties
* Develop and deliver curricula aligned with undergraduate learning outcomes.
* Teach and supervise 9–12 undergraduate resident assistants.
* Provide academic advising, counseling and crisis support.
* Maintain residential housing operations, budgeting and administrative paperwork.
* Facilitate retention efforts and student development programming.
* Participate in residence life and SSE division meetings.
Secondary Duties
* Committee participation through the Community of Educators.
* Other tasks assigned by the Director of Residence Life.
