Hiring Now: QHSE Manager (Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental), Fabrication / Manufacturing, Middlesbrough Engagement: Permanent Our client is a global manufacturer and supplier of steel structures, working across a number of sectors including telecommunications. Due to continued succession planning, they require a QHSE Manager to join their business on a permanent basis. Are you experienced in overseeing and continuously improving the Quality and HSE requirements for a production manufacturing facility? If so, then please read on As QHSE Manager, you'll ensure the compliance of Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental regulatory requirements whilst driving a culture of quality and safety. This includes updating and maintaining the QHSE systems and ensuring employees, managers and suppliers comply and work to the standards throughout the site. The responsibilities of the QHSE Manager: * Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of QHSE policies, procedures and systems * Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations and ISO standards * Conduct and oversee to completion risk assessments, audits and incident investigations with recommended improvements to meet with statutory requirements * Drive a proactive quality and safety culture and champion employee engagement in QHSE initiatives * Report QHSE performance metrics to the management team and recommend improvements * Monitor product quality and process performance, driving root cause analysis and continuous improvement * Work with production /operations team to improve processes and reduce waste * Ensure all emergency evacuation procedures are recorded, followed and practices to adhere with agreed group standards * Deliver or organise with external training consultants Health, Safety and Environmental training required by law or internal rules * Use and maintain the HSE Reporting system and help local team to embrace the system * Ensure Health & Safety & Env. policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated * Oversee environmental impact management and sustainability strategies * Maintain the quality management system under ISO9001 * Ensure products and processes meet established standards * Manage internal and external quality audits including corrective/preventative actions * Maintain documentation including quality manual, operating processes and inspection records * Analyse non-conformance data and drive continuous improvement initiatives The ideal background of a QHSE Manager: * NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent * UKAS approved Quality internal auditor * Strong knowledge of QHSE related legislation, ISO standards and industry best practice * Excellent communication and influencing skills to explain Quality, health and safety processes and give presentations to groups * Proactive, hands-on approach with passion for driving positive change * Experience with root cause analysis tools (e.g. 5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA).
