Criminal Law Specialist, Manchester office

2. As a subject matter expert in Criminal Law, you will be instrumental in shaping our offering and ensuring LEAP’s position as the best Criminal Law software solution in the UK market.
3. Alongside the Head of Criminal Law, you will identify opportunities for future development and content projects to enhance the end consumer experience, developing initiatives to improve usage, engaging with customers and other stakeholders to source feedback, and reporting KPI’s to the team.
4. Permanent, Full-time, hybrid working model: 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.

Meet the Criminal Law & Customer Success teams
Working in Criminal Law means staying sharp and ahead of the competition. This role is ideal for someone who believes custom technology and AI can make that possible. You’ll join LEAP’s new Criminal Law vertical, helping build tailored products and services that empower practitioners in the field.
As part of a collaborative team of Product Owners, Developers, and Specialists, you’ll help create innovative, Criminal Law- specific solutions. Within our Client Success team, you’ll act as a trusted LEAP expert, onboarding, training, and supporting clients to get the most from our software. Through hands-on, face-to-face guidance, you’ll give clients the confidence to use LEAP effectively and focus on what they do best.
You’ll also work closely with our marketing, sales, and renewal teams to ensure our products and message align with client needs, making a real impact from day one to business as usual.
Requirements
What you'll do
5. Develop and maintain an outstanding knowledge of LEAP Criminal Law & its companion products.
6. Promote use of LEAP Criminal Law products & drive adoption in Criminal Law.
7. Shape the product development of software in Criminal Law.
8. Report on in-depth competitor analyses in the areas of Legal Technology.
9. Ensure LEAP’s processes comply with up-to-date legislation within Criminal Law.
10. Research forms, legislation, and legal processes relevant to the criminal jurisdiction.
11. Identify the need for, schedule & conduct onsite/remote visits & training sessions.
12. Attend industry events to speak with existing customers.
What you'll bring
13. 3-5 years’ experience working within Criminal Law, with experience in all aspects of Criminal Law.
14. Up-to-date specialist knowledge of the law and legal system, and relevant experience of handling a wide range of cases.
15. Experience with case management systems.
16. Knowledge of legal aid and legal aid billing would be advantageous.
17. An understanding of the small law firm’s culture & expectations.
18. A passion for technology.
19. Budgeting skills and commercial awareness.
20. Ability to work on own initiative.
21. Excellent organisational skills.
22. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
23. Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal); skilled in dealing sensitively with clients.
24. Completed a degree or equivalent qualification.
