The Role As an English Lecturer, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching that engages, challenges and supports learners from Entry Level to Level 2/3. You’ll contribute to the ongoing development of our curriculum, working collaboratively within a supportive department focused on continuous improvement and innovation. You’ll be responsible for: Planning and delivering engaging, well-structured lessons, including schemes of work Designing and implementing learner-centred assessment with clear, developmental feedback Monitoring and supporting learner attendance, progress and achievement Providing personal coaching and pastoral support to designated learners Contributing to a safe, inclusive learning environment, ensuring health and safety standards are met Keeping your subject knowledge current to ensure teaching remains relevant and employability-focused Actively engaging in professional development and quality improvement activity What We’re Looking For We’re seeking a motivated educator who is passionate about English and learner progression. You’ll ideally have: A recognised teaching qualification Recent, successful experience teaching Functional Skills and/or English from Entry Level to Level 2/3, preferably in Further Education A strong track record of effective assessment and learner achievement Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to support colleagues and contribute to shared goals Strong administrative skills, including accurate tracking of learner data In addition, you’ll have: A learner-focused approach with strong communication skills Good organisational and administrative skills A commitment to equality, safeguarding and inclusive practice What’s In It for You?
