Join the Fusion and Modular Nuclear Business Unit! You will join an expanding team to support the development and delivery of work packages for our nuclear, marine, and O&G clients based around our Sunderland office. The role supports Hybrid working. As a Mechanical Engineer your role will include:
* Leading project tasks: Manage and plan projects for a team of engineers while coordinating with project management facilities.
* Producing engineering solutions: Deliver high-quality engineering solutions across a wide range of topics and activities.
* Communicating progress: Provide feedback on technical development and project delivery to the Lead Engineer and Project Manager.
* Mentoring: Offer technical guidance and support to team members, especially junior or graduate engineers.
* Managing time: Efficiently manage your time to meet agreed deadlines, target costs, and quality standards with minimal supervision.

Qualifications
* Minimum 2:1 BEng in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
* Relevant senior engineering experience in sectors like offshore, renewables, nuclear, or other highly regulated industries.
* Solid background in mechanical and structural engineering.
* Proficient with CAD software: Skilled in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and/or Catia.
* Strong mathematical skills: Experienced with MathCAD software.
* Skilled in producing technical reports: Expertise in creating design and substantiation reports, assembly procedures, etc.
* Knowledge of manufacturing processes: Understanding of welding, machining, etc.
* Experienced with the engineering design cycle from Concept to Manufacture.
Additional Information:
* Familiar with European and Offshore standards: Experience with Eurocode 3 and DNV.
* Master's degree is a plus.
* Skilled in checking and approving engineering CAD assemblies and drawings.
* Proficient in verifying engineering documentation: Manual calculations, reports, etc.
* Excellent Finite Element Analysis skills: In-depth knowledge of ANSYS Workbench is desirable.
* Experienced in non-linear and fatigue FEA: Familiar with DNV and Eurocodes.
