Overview

Risk & Governance Manager (12 month FTC)

We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to join the AdmiralRisk team on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract basis. This role is central to nurturing and strengthening Admiral’s Risk Governance framework, ensuring it remains resilient, adaptable, and closely aligned with our Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF).

As Risk & Governance Manager, you will play a key role in fostering a culture of collaboration and shared responsibility for risk across Admiral. You will support and guide the Risk Management Committee, working closely with colleagues to ensure risks are thoughtfully identified, assessed, managed, and communicated. Your work will help maintain a healthy balance between risk and reward, supporting our collective success.


Key Responsibilities

* Governance Framework Leadership
Shape, maintain, and continuously enhance our suite of Risk Management Standards, ensuring they reflect our values, internal policies, regulatory expectations, and industry best practices.
* Committee Management & Oversight
Support the governance and smooth operation of the EUI Risk Management Committee, encouraging open communication, effective escalation, and collaborative decision-making, while ensuring alignment with Board-level risk oversight.
* Risk Oversight
Provide thoughtful second line oversight and constructive challenge to first line governance activities, helping to embed effective risk management practices across all business areas.
* Control Effectiveness & Assurance
Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of key controls for current and emerging risks, identifying opportunities for improvement and supporting teams in addressing any weaknesses.
* Risk Reporting & Insight
Lead the creation of risk reports and dashboards for senior committees, including the Board Risk and Conduct Committee, delivering clear, actionable insights and recommendations.
* Emerging Risk & Scenario Analysis
Facilitate collaborative stress testing and scenario analysis to evaluate our resilience against key and emerging risks, supporting strategic planning and informed risk appetite decisions.
* Risk Event Oversight
Monitor and support the remediation of risk events, ensuring lessons learned are shared and systemic issues are addressed together.
* Stakeholder Engagement & Education
Build strong, trusting relationships across EUI, delivering engaging education and awareness sessions to enhance our risk culture and governance maturity.


Skills & Experience

* Strong understanding of risk governance frameworks and their importance within a regulated business.
* Ability to build consensus, influence senior stakeholders, and drive positive governance improvements.
* Experience in committee management, risk reporting, and control assurance.
* Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into meaningful, actionable insights.
* Excellent communication, relationship-building, and facilitation skills.
* Self-motivated, forward-thinking, and commercially aware.
