Join the Education and SEND Division at Medway Council as an Assessment Officer (EHC Coordinator). You'll play a vital role in coordinating Education, Health, and Care (EHC) assessments and drafting outcome-focused, high-quality EHC Plans that support children and young people across the region.

Reports to: Assessment Hub Lead
The salary range for this perm position is £31,283 - £37,181
Draft and amend Education, Health & Care Plans (EHCPs) in line with statutory frameworks (Children and Families Act, SEND Code of Practice)
Provide technical advice and support to parents and carers throughout the EHCP process
Use the SEN database in line with Council protocols to manage and track cases
Support quality assurance of advice and plans
Liaise with professionals and services to identify needs and ensure child-focused outcomes
✅ Experience in SEND services or EHC planning
Strong understanding of SEND Code of Practice and Children and Families Act
Excellent organisational, communication, and data management skills
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
