Milk Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Gateshead to appoint a Trainee Teacher to join their dedicated team.

Trainee Teacher – Role Overview
As a Trainee Teacher, you will work closely with class teachers and senior staff to support teaching and learning across KS1 and KS2. This Trainee Teacher role is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, or individuals considering teacher training who are looking to gain valuable classroom experience.
You will support lesson delivery, small group interventions, and classroom management, while developing your own teaching practice through guidance and mentorship.
Trainee Teacher – Key Responsibilities
Supporting Teaching & Learning
• Assist in planning and delivering engaging lessons across the primary curriculum
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to reinforce learning
• Support differentiated learning to meet a range of abilities and needs
• Help create a positive and stimulating classroom environment
Classroom Management & Pupil Development
• Support behaviour management in line with school policies
• Encourage pupil participation, confidence, and independence
• Build positive relationships with pupils to support engagement and progress
• Assist with classroom routines, transitions, and organisation
Professional Development
• Work alongside experienced teachers to develop your skills as a Trainee Teacher
• Observe lessons and receive constructive feedback
• Prepare for progression into teacher training or a permanent teaching role
Trainee Teacher – Essential Criteria
• A genuine interest in pursuing a career in education and working with children
• Experience working with children (school, tutoring, coaching, or care settings)
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• A proactive, enthusiastic, and reflective approach
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
• Must live locally to Gateshead—no relocation
• A degree or relevant qualification (preferred but not essential)
