Operations Operative
Location: Outskirts of Newark
Salary: Around £30,000 per year
Job Type: Full-time, permanent
About the Role
This is a hands-on, practical role for someone who enjoys working outdoors and taking care of operational sites. You will help keep buildings, equipment and surrounding areas safe, clean and in good condition. You will work closely with the Maintenance Manager and site teams and help with general maintenance, fuel handling and site support tasks.
Main Duties
1. Clear blockages on equipment
2. Keep areas clean and protect equipment from corrosion
3. Help with maintenance, repair and improvement projects
4. Carry out basic groundworks such as digging trenches and moving materials
5. Mix and pour concrete for small foundations and structures
6. Clean drains and pipework
7. Put up safety barriers and warning signs when needed
8. Follow all health and safety rules and wear the correct PPE
9. Support a positive safety and teamwork culture
10. Communicate clearly with site staff and managers
11. Carry out other reasonable tasks to support site operations
What We’re Looking For
12. Experience in an industrial, construction, utilities or outdoor role
13. Good understanding of health and safety
14. Happy to work outside in all weather
15. Confident working at height and around machinery
16. Able to safely use tools, equipment and machinery
17. Telehandler and shovel loader experience is essential
18. Willing to learn and attend training
19. Reliable, positive and able to work alone or in a team
20. Must have the right to work in the UK
