The Cancer Administrator with support the Cancer Support Workers (CSW) and Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) teams in filling their complex role under the line management of the Macmillan Information and Support Service Manager. A large part of the role involves assisting the CSWs and CNSs with triaging incoming phone messages and redirecting, signposting to the relevant service or clinical professional.
Other elements of the role may include:
* Completing non-complex referrals to support services and third party providers
* Assisting the CSWs with ordering and maintaining the cancer site specific patient information provision
* Liaising with the oncology secretarial team to rearrange or query patient appointments
* Chasing appointments, scans and reports for patients and other clinical or non-clinical health professionals
Main duties of the job
We have an opportunity for Band 3 Bank opportunity to offer support for our CSW and CNS teams within Cancer Services at Worthing Hospital
This role supports our clinical nurse specialist and cancer support worker teams to care for patients diagnosed with cancer. They will join a team of Band 4 support workers within cancer services, under the leadership and guidance of the Macmillan Information and Support Service Manager.
It will be important that the individual is motivated and enthusiastic about providing outstanding care to patients across their whole pathway. Is able to work autonomously and as part of the multi-disciplinary team.

Experience and Education
Essential criteria
1. good general education, English and Math GCSE A-C
2. Demonstrates good communication skills and values
3. Experience with working with people with health or social care needs
Desirable criteria
4. Experience Relevant health or social care experience or equivalent
5. Experience of multi professional team working
6. Ability to prioritise workload and use own initiative
