Treatment Unit
The bedded in-patient Treatment Unit is responsible for delivering evidence-based inpatient interventions. The focus is on enabling patients to attain a state in which they feel clinically safe to take on the challenges that exist in the community. Recovery principles are at the heart of the interventions that are delivered. The unit covers geographical areas of Peterborough, Fenland and Huntingdon.
Main duties of the job
Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the evidence-based management of patients admitted to the Unit for assessment of their psychiatric condition.
Management of patients admitted to the Treatment ward in acute crisis of their mental health, under supervision of consultant psychiatrist.
To work with the multidisciplinary team on the unit and other teams within and outside the organisation and share responsibility with them for day-today management of the unit and seamless patient care.
Teaching and training of junior staff, medical students and other disciplines.
To actively participate in both departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance, audit and research.
To have responsibility for ensuring active participation in continuing professional development (CPD), supervision and medical appraisal.
