Location: Kingswood, Hull Pay: £14 per hour Hours: 24 hours per week - 8:00am-20:00pm or 20:00pm-8:00am (flexible shifts, including split shifts such as 8:00am–14:00pm or 14:00pm–20:00pm) We are looking for a compassionate, resilient Female Support Worker to join a small team supporting a 36‑year‑old with complex mental health needs transitioning from a long-term hospital environment into her own home in the community. This is a highly rewarding role where you will play a key part in helping her build confidence, independence, and a meaningful daily routine. She enjoys animals and has her own cat, meeting friends, watching TV shows like Friends, listening to music, and getting out into the community. Much of her adult life has been spent in hospital, so many everyday experiences are still new to her. She thrives with patience, encouragement, and a calm, steady presence. Small achievements are celebrated, and your support will help her continue to grow in independence. What You’ll Be Doing Providing trauma‑informed emotional support and reassurance Using de‑escalation skills to help her manage distress Supporting her to build confidence in daily living and community activities Encouraging self‑care and helping her maintain routines Offering light personal care (e.g., support getting in/out of the bath, occasional help with clothing) Supporting her to make safe, informed choices while respecting her independence Helping her enjoy hobbies, social time, and community access Working independently in her home while following clear support plans What We’re Looking For Female Support Worker (occupational requirement) Experience in mental health and/or self‑harm support is highly desirable Someone emotionally resilient, calm, and confident in de‑escalation Ability to build trust, celebrate small wins, and support someone adjusting to independent living A supportive, non‑judgemental approach Flexibility to work a mix of full and split shifts A driver is preferred, but non‑drivers can be considered (public transport available) Who we are acuity care delivers specialistsupportacross Brain Injury, Spinal Injury, Learning Disability & Autism, and Mental Health Services.
