Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activities Co Ordinator to join our team in providing enriching experiences for residents in nursing home. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the care sector, including experience with dementia and Alzheimer's care. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for our residents through engaging activities that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and overall well-being.
Responsibilities
* Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive activities programme tailored to the interests and needs of residents.
* Coordinate and facilitate daily activities, including arts and crafts, games, exercise classes, and outings.
* Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure activities are appropriate for residents with varying levels of ability and health conditions.
* Engage residents in meaningful conversations to foster relationships and encourage participation.
* Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback to continually improve the activities programme.
* Train and supervise volunteers or activity aides to assist with programming.
* Ensure a safe environment during all activities by adhering to health and safety regulations.
Skills
* Proven experience in assisted living or nursing home settings is essential.
* Strong understanding of nursing care practices, particularly in dementia and Alzheimer's care.
* Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff members.
* Ability to create engaging programmes that cater to diverse interests and abilities.
* Compassionate caregiving skills that foster a supportive environment for residents.
* Organisational skills to manage multiple activities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £12.21-£13.30 per hour
