Our client is seeking an experienced business development professional with a strong understanding of the transportation sector.
The purpose of this vacancy is to support the business in achieving its business targets and the implementation of the sector strategy.
As a Business Development Manager, you’ll cultivate and manage relationships with clients, identify new business opportunities, and lead the development of proposals and presentations.
Key Accountabilities:
* Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the Transport sector, contributing to and exceeding set targets
* Support the Transport Director in delivering growth targets aligned with the corporate plan
* Contribute to the development and maintenance of the sector strategy, identifying target customers, markets, and services
* Assist in shaping Transport sector offerings based on customer insights and working with the engineering and innovation team
* Contribute to sector mapping, research, opportunity identification, and development
* Support the overall pipeline sector development and provide leads to other sectors as appropriate
* Prepare detailed tender information for review, ensuring new business meets profitability targets
* Develop and manage new customer relationships
* Lead the preparation of tender responses and presentations
* Facilitate the smooth transition of new customers to the Operations teams
Summary of Capabilities/Competencies:
* Proven track record in business development, preferably within the Transport sector
* Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
* Proactive approach to identifying and pursuing new business opportunities
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Ability to influence and negotiate at various levels
* Solid commercial and financial acumen
* Strong negotiation skills
